Seeking a Director of Logistics Job in Milwaukee, Wisconsin US
The Director, Logistics is directly responsible for managing, planning and overseeing all aspects of the warehouse operations and global transportation, including the relationships with key suppliers. Develops, implements, and maintains the state of the art warehousing strategy and global transportation strategy to support long term operations objectives. Responsible for providing leadership function and ensures corporate compliance with suppliers, customs regulations, logistics service providers and field staff personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and monitor Warehousing and Transportation strategy:
· Develop, implement and maintain the warehousing and transportation strategy to ensure the customer and the company utilizes the best combination of price, service, regulatory compliance and product security.
· Provide innovative, strategic recommendations to manage operations and work with internal and external partners to gain approval and implement recommendations
· Plan, build and manage improvement plans across functional peer groups and geographies.
· Collaborate with subordinate supervisors, customers, functional peers, and senior management regarding the effects of transportation decisions on the corporation, including analysis and/or information regarding the industry and/or government (foreign and domestic) policies and regulations that may affect the company.
Manage, plan and oversee all Warehousing and Transportation operations:
· Develop, implement and manage annual Warehousing and Transportation operating plan and budget. Coordinate development and execution of operating plan with North America, subsidiaries, and business stakeholders, including establishing and managing priorities.
· Work closely with key stakeholders, including Supply Chain and Subsidiary Operations, manage Warehouse and Transportation performance. Ensure KPIs are achieved.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Director level experience in managing multiple warehouses.
· Ability to create and design systems to increase overall efficiency. Bring strategic ideas to management, communicate change impacts, gain approval, implement changes and improvements effectively.
· High business acumen, leadership, planning and organizing, as well as conflict management skills.
· Advanced knowledge of Global Shipping Procedures.
· Able to effectively lead and manage direct subordinate employees and multi-layer function.
· Able to create and deliver performance management messages to subordinates.
· Excellent leadership, communication, analytical and project management skills required.
· Exceptional ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision making with results driven orientation.
· Ability to participate as a team-member as well as leader in a fast paced, team oriented environment.
· Ability to facilitate group meetings.
Education and/or Experience:
· 15 plus years of Warehouse Management experience with a large Fortune 500 organization.
· Minimum of 10 years experience in relevant field including minimum of 5 years in a management role.
· B.A./B.S. in business or technical area required.
· Masters degree preferred
