Sell-Side Research Associate (Networking and Wireless Equipment Team) recruitment
We are interviewing candidates for an Equity Research Associate position with the Communications Equipment team at Janney in NYC. Focus will be on high-growth trends in mobile computing, telecom networks, data center equipment and infrastructure software. The candidate will support an experienced Senior Analyst, and will have considerable opportunity to contribute and advance his/her career. The candidate will be part of a team that conducts extensive industry and company analysis. Successful candidate will be ambitious and hardworking, have good writing skills, pays attention to details, and team-oriented.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prior sell-side experience, preferably over three years covering communications equipment or IT hardware stocks. Industry experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, forecasting and financial modeling skills. Will be responsible for building and maintaining in-depth device forecasts and various industry metrics.
- Excellent writing skills and ability to draft in-depth research reports as well as shorter maintenance notes.
- Excellent communications skills. Ability to build industry contacts and talk with company management. Communicating investment ideas with institutional clients, salespeople and traders
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self motivated and detail oriented
- Well versed communication skills—written and oral
- Direct experience with financial modeling and valuation
- Systems skills—Office, Capital IQ, and other data retrieval services
- At least two years of relevant work experience
- MBA, CPA and/or CFA certifications are a plus
- Has relevant licenses--Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 licenses
