The Active Network is currently seeking an experienced technical account manager who will be responsible for maintaining and renewing existing customers as well as cross-selling and up-selling Actives products and services. In addition, they will be required to become a true expert of our product, enabling them to install and consult for their customer base.
We are looking for a proven top performer to help us develop and grow loyal customers in the communities and government markets throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Previous communities and/or government account management experience in addition to technology sales experience is strongly desirable. Top candidates will have an entrepreneurial drive to both satisfy our current customers, and drive new business. This position requires excellent customer service and leadership skills, and a high level of enthusiasm.
This senior level position requires enterprise technology account management expertise with large, complex organizations. Maintaining relationships with executive management of these government agencies and hands on experience creating solutions based on in-depth understanding of customers requirements and needs are keys to success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise to Sales staff (in the form of RFP responses etc.)
- Participate in pre-project planning with internal teams and clients
- Implement database applications with customers to satisfy their business needs
- Coordinate all day-to-day details of database application implementations
- Train end-users and system administrators to use their database application effectively
- Build and maintain relationships with existing clients, including renewing expiring contract
- Promote and sell additional online technology applications and services
- Build trust, loyalty and solid long-term relationships with key decision-makers
- Understand current customers business issues and buying motives
Preferred Experience:
- Previous customer-facing experience in one or more of the following sectors: government, parks and recreation, education, non-profit, and/or other public sector agencies
- Previous customer-facing software implementation and training
- Previous experience facilitating business process discovery and change
- Database installation and administration experience (SQL/Oracle) an asset
- PC/network/peripheral support experience or certification an asset (eg. A+)
- Project management education, certification and/or experience an asset (eg. PMP)
- Systems analysis education, certification and/or experience an asset (eg. 6-Sigma)
- Solid understanding of software development/testing processes an asset
- Solid understanding of web design software and best practices an asset
Job Requirements::
- College / University or Technical undergraduate degree or diploma
- 3-5+ years business-to-business sales / account management / IT / consulting experience with a proven track record in one or more of these sectors: government, parks and recreation, education, non-profit, and/or other public sector agencies
- Strong presentation and technical-writing skills
- Quick to adapt to new environments and able to grasp complex business processes
- A strong entrepreneurial spirit and a willingness to do what it takes to get the job
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer-focused, strong communication and organizational skills, goal oriented, and self-motivated team player
- Ability to learn, use and understand technology new computer applications quickly
- Natural ability to manage expectations, facilitate problem solving and resolve conflicts
- A keen eye for opportunity, both for our company and our customers
- Willing and able to travel up to 75% throughout North America, Australia and New Zealand
