Senior Accountant/ Controller (m/f) recruitment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reconcile Purchase Orders with supplier and vendor invoices
- Set up payments to ensure timely and accurate payment to suppliers vendors, and record JE
- Update weekly cash flow projections based on upcoming sales and supplier payment schedules
- Daily/monthly cash reconciliation of CC receipts to sales system; perform bank reconciliations, calculate revenue for month end, and record JE
- Calculate reserves required each month for Credits/Returns/Gift Cards, validate data from various sources and create JE
- Research and reconcile variable costs on a monthly basis (i.e., credit card processing, shipping vendors, email messaging costs), investigate variances, and create JE
- Maintain fixed costs payment schedule on a monthly basis, and create JE
- Calculate monthly/quarterly VAT
- Calculation of month end and year end accruals
- Work with Payroll vendor and office manager to administer semi-monthly payroll and taxes
- Assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and Board presentations
- Assist in the creation and documentation of internal processes and controls
- Assist in annual tax preparation Identify, research, and analyze accounting and tax issues and questions
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Seasoned accountant with 5+ years of experience in the internal accounting/finance function of growth company(s) (prefer experience in ecommerce or retail business of $15m in revenue)
- Degree in accounting, business, or finance from a highly regarded academic institution
- The ideal candidate will have worked in a start-up environment and has experience with full cycle accounting. This role has huge potential from growth for the right candidate.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP IFRS
- Senior level management of GL, AP AR
- Expert in QuickBooks and/or other professional accounting software
- Leadership role in month, quarter, year-end closings and presenting financial results
- Strong analytical skills and advanced excel (lookups, sum-ifs, pivot tables, logic formulas, etc)
- Excellent English and German communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment, create a team as the need grows and willingness to do whatever is needed to complete the task at hand.
