Senior accountant – Insurance recruitment
On offer: Highly competitive salary, depending on experience. Low tax rate of 20%, Housing License, benefits and bonus.
Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for management of a portfolio of captive insurance companies.
- A high level of interaction with clients
- Staff management and oversight
- Overseer of accounts production and management of cells within large PCC's and SAC's
- Review of management accounts (circa 90 sets per annum)
- Present accounts at board meetings
- Responsible for producing accurate pertinent information on a timely basis to enable the captive Boards to make informed decisions.
- Liaise with parent company, insurance regulator, directors, service providers
in respect of the above.
- Advise senior management of issues of significance in respect of above.
Financial
- Ensure the production of management accounts, statutory accounts and information, budgets, cashflow statements, and supplementary information as required.
- Assist with the adoption of appropriate accounting practices and ensure adherence thereto.
- Monitor margin of solvency
Live Accounting
- Monthly bank reconciliation
- Monthly posting of bank investment transactions
- Monthly posting of monthly bordereaux
Cash Manage day to day cash requirements of companies

- Liaise with banks
- Liaise with and monitor investment managers in respect of captive invested funds.
Secretarial
Perform relevant company secretarial functions including taking and producing minutes of meetings and required statutory filings.
- Minutes produced and circulated within 7 days of meeting
- Produce action points immediately after minutes are produced and add to 'To Do Lists'
- Actioning matters arising.
- Arrange AGM
- Maintaining Corporate Governance framework and procedures manual
- Schedule of Key Actions
- Statutory Filings:
- HM Greffe return
- Tax exemption application
- GFSC Annual return
Board Meetings
Co-ordinate board meetings. Produce board pack to agreed standards and timing (7 days prior to meeting). Attend meetings and lead discussions as necessary
- Entertain clients as required
- Maintain contact with local directors and keep them advised of developments with client.
Insurance
- Policy administration and documentation
- Claims administration including reporting and recording
- Liaison with insurance and reinsurance brokers as required
Underwriting decisions in conjunction with Directors; Renewal and New business
- Check risk gap
- GFSC approval of change to business plan
- Obtain Board approval
- Check insurance documentation
- Accounting for premiums
- Agree reserving methodology
General Responsibilities
To maintain an ongoing relationship with client.
- Speak at least monthly
- Visit client at least annually
- Get to know likes and dislikes
- Socialise with client wherever possible
- Check client website from time to time.
- Understand client's business and industry.
