Position Summary:
Community Choice Financial, a leading provider of consumer financial services, is seeking a senior accountant. This position is primarily responsible for external reporting, month-end journal entries and reconciliations. This position is an excellent opportunity with a growing company which has recently filed to go public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following):
1. Leads the monthly general ledger close process, including the preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, with a focus on more complex topics, such as equity, significant accruals,, etc.
2. Completes and coordinates preparation of monthly management reporting packages.
3. Performs analytical reviews of income statement and balance sheet accounts.
4. Prepares periodic analyses of complex and critical accounting estimates.
5. Maintains compliance with internal controls, and related Sarbanes-Oxley (“SOX”) requirements, in assigned areas.
6. Assists with departmental projects, such as integration activities, ad hoc analysis, etc., as needed.
7. Assisting with drafting SEC reports and required disclosures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience required; combination of corporate and public accounting preferred. CPA Required.
2. Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and organizational skills required.
3. Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills required.
4. Proficiency in Excel required.
5. Working knowledge of internal controls / SOX requirements preferred.
