Senior Accountant – Real Estate
JOB DESCRIPTION:
My client is a privately held Real Estate Investment Manager headquartered in Los Angeles with over 20 years of experience investing across the globe. Since inception the business has invested over $40 billion and has over $25 billion AUM presently. The company has recently raised a significant fund so is there fore looking to recruit a Senior Accountant on a permanent basis. The role will report to the Fund Controller and is looking to pay circa $90k.
The main responsibilities of the role will include;
- Preparation of quarterly fund financial statements
- Playing a pivotal role in designing and implementing ongoing procedural changes in a fast paced environment within the fund accounting team.
- Preparing consolidation entries, including non-controlling interests
- Capital calls and distributions
- Managing the monthly fund expense accruals and payments
- Maintaining capital commitment report
- Quarterly investor reporting for numerous funds
- Cash management
- Preparing monthly management reports for the corporate entity
- Supervision of junior accounting staff
- Approval of junior accounting staff journal entries
- Investor requests
- Other ad hoc financial projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must have;
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA qualified accountant
- Prior Real Estate or Private Equity experience
- 4-7 years of accounting experience including public accounting
- Strong technical skills in financial reporting, consolidation and IFRS
