SENIOR ACCOUNTANT recruitment
They are looking for a Senior Accountant for a six month contract within their team based in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing all returns, accounts, etc. produced by the team, as well as driving project implementation in the team, championing the use of Finance IT systems and challenging and reviewing existing practices.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide cover for Manager – Overseas Finance.
- Review Board Packs.
- Monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and forecasts.
- Statutory accounts.
- VAT Returns.
- UK Overseas regulatory and tax returns and filings.
- Financial, capital and liquidity management monitoring.
- Insurance matters.
- Overseas client reporting.
- Support and drive implementation of projects.
- Coach the Overseas team as appropriate.
- Champion the use of finance systems and ensure that best practice is embedded in all reporting.
- Challenge existing processes, focusing on creating efficiencies through smarter working practices.

Core Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant.
- Experience of working in Financial Services.
- Excellent systems skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience of preparing / reviewing Management accounts / board papers.
- Experience of preparing / reviewing Regulatory returns.
- Experience of preparing / reviewing VAT / Tax returns.
- Experience of working in Investment Management is desirable.
- Experience of working with SUN Accounting system is desirable.
