Job Description Job Title: Senior Accountant SOX Compliance Requisition ID: 12002V6 Job Category: Accountant 5 Primary Location: USA-VA: VIRGINIA-FALLS CHURCH Schedule: Full-time Job Type: Regular Employee Status: Regular Job Posting: 2012-Feb-21 Description Summary Job Description: To serve as a key member of the Corporate Consolidations and Financial Reporting team responsible for executing and coordinating compliance with all aspects of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). Detail Job Functions: · Ensure that internal control documents, including process narratives, flow charts and matrix of risks and controls (manual and IT general controls) for all processes are compliant with SOX requirements. · Perform walkthroughs of all internal control documentation, within Corporate Controller's group and other corporate functions, to ensure the documentation is complete, properly supported and that the documented controls address relevant risks. · Ensure compliance with annual processes such as risk assessment, including fraud risks, entity level controls. · Assist management with SOX compliance including appropriate planning, communication, follow-up, meeting attendance, issue escalation and quality reviews. · Coordinate with internal and external auditors in their testing of controls, issue management and remediation. · Assist in the update and management of controls documentation and test results via the selected SOX software tools. · Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred Five or more years of accounting or finance experience Other Qualifications CPA/CIA preferred Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in public accounting or with a public company in a similar role. Understanding of SOX internal control documentation and testing requirements. Ability to learn quickly and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to interact and work in a team environment. Good personal computer and business solutions software skills Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with less experienced accountants and support personnel Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management Strong analytical and problem solving skills Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work Good presentation skills for educating internal clients on accounting principles Ability to work independently and as part of a team Remote Work Authorized: No Relocation Assistence: Not Available Clearance Level: None
