Our client a major global manufacturer is looking for a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT for their headquarters located in downtown
JOB SUMMARY:
- Preparation of the Company?s monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Responsible for managing and compiling information provided by the mill accounting group.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to creatively problem solve and draw from disparate sources of information is key.
- Recommends changes in policies and procedures to increase efficiency of operations or to improve safeguards over company assets.
- Assist external auditors in the performance of year-end and interim financial audits/reviews, including the benefit plan audits.
- Assists in the monthly close process; preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Maintains the Headquarters fixed assets in Oracle.
- Assists with accounting, financial reporting and special projects as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in accounting or finance
- CPA is preferred
- Requires minimum 2 years experience in public accounting
- Experience in relevant accounting, including applications of accounting principles is preferred
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards is preferred
- Expertise with spreadsheets and other PC computer applications is required
- Experience with Oracle Financial systems is desirable
- Experience with employee benefit plan reporting preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a proven track record in a large organization are necessary
