Senior Accountant/Controller recruitment
GENERAL JOB INTRODUCTION:
A leading Danish offshore vessel owner/operator has created a new role for a Senior Accountant/Controller for this Head Office function reporting directly to the CFO.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Our client is a niche supplier of critical services to oil and gas companies. They build, own and operate offshore vessels platforms that operate on a worldwide basis. They have a long term strategy to further develop their offshore activities, in particular the high-end ASV segment. They have are now in the process of building 2 further ASV vessels(Global Maritime GM500A design) over the next 36 months and are recognized in the industry for their high performance standards and knowledge.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT:
The successful applicant have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a qualified CPA and have an excellent knowledge of accounting(Balance Sheet, PL, cash flow) global IFRS and SFRS standards. In addition you will have experience in management reporting and ideally have a shipping background or experience at an asset management company. You will have a hands on approach and as you will be work in an international environment and report to Danish shareholders have good communication skills. You also have the ability to work independently be result orientated, pro-active and organized.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
You will be responsible for 3 areas i.e. Accounting/Bookkeeping as well as Controlling Reporting and finally compliance. The successful candidate will need to perform the full cycle bookkeeping and accounting function from books of original entry through to Financial Statement. Also the preparation and maintenance of the General Ledger, Balance Sheet as well as Profit Loss will need to be performed. Monthly reconciliations and month end year-end closing entries as well as the preparation of a full set of statutory accounts for the audit function will be required. In addition preparation and timeously submission of the monthly and annual returns for GST and compliance with any other IRAS requirements will need to be done. Reconciliation schedules and monitoring and follow up on receivables and payables will be a function. Finally you will assist on setting up accounting and control procedures and able to assist on tax matters (GST, withholding tax etc.) when needed. The role will also involve design and implementation of management reporting templates and other ad-hoc reports. Monthly preparation of basic monthly management reports for Danish shareholders. And assist on budgeting and forecasting, analyzing and comment on budget variances. Preparation of the statutory accounts for the audit function and liaison with the auditors re statutory compliance and audited financial statement preparation will be done annually.
