Senior Accountant/TRAC Manager (1 year FTC)
A well-established education institution in London requires a good all-round accountant to lead on a number of the university's accounting processes including the TRAC returns. A strong management accountant (ideally) is required to take ownership of management reporting functions whilst carrying out work that revolves around TRAC. This is a position of high responsibility, where the job will require an exceptionally organised accountant who has the ability to multi-task and take ownership of responsibilities given to them.
The role will report into the Head of Finance and will work closely with various senior non-finance personnel. The ability therefore to communicate complex financial ideas easily is of importance. Responsibilities of the successful candidate will include assisting and leading on a number of management accounting processes that include delivering a first class budgeting, financial reporting and accounting service, streamlining processes, building relationships across the institution as well as liaising with auditors, meeting deadlines, prioritising workloads and attending meetings when necessary. Although there will be a senior manager to give some guidance on TRAC, most of the process will be undertaken by this individual, along with the expectation to provide ideas to improve the process and make it more efficient.
The right candidate will be able to demonstrate good financial leadership and the ability to make decisions. The ideal person will be qualified (although strong part qualified accountants within the HE sector will be consider), have sound knowledge of the TRAC process, intelligent, commercially minded and keen to fast-track their career.
