Coordinating external audits

Preparing and reviewing/ auditing external audit requests
Prepares documentation in support of external and internal audits
 
Preparation and review of financial statements
Preparation and review of complex calculations

Reviewing Statutory filings and supporting schedules

Review and analysis of complex contracts including summary documentation of the contract and proper accounting

Lead and go-to person on various accounting related special projects

Analytical review of GAAP and Statutory basis financial statements
Lead on process analysis, process improvements, and process documentation
This position will be involved in the monthly GAAP and quarterly Statutory accounting close process.  Analyzes general ledger activity and financial statements, reviews account classifications, and other related activities in support of the financial statement process.  Ensures financial statements are accurate and reasonably presented.
 
Assists in reviews of account reconciliations and supporting documentation,   
 
Reviews the work of others,

Develops innovative approaches,

Sought out as expert, and

Serves as a leader/ mentor.
 

Basic Requirements:
 
Bachelor degree in Accounting
 
Minimum of 3 years public accounting/ auditing experience (one must be a full year at a senior level)
Very proficient in excel (must be able to analyze and manipulate large amounts of data in Excel)

Strong GAAP and analytical skills
Must have experience analytically reviewing financial statements

Must be able to manage changes in responsibilities and priorities on a regular basis

Must be a go-getter with high confidence and strong organizational skills

Strong leadership skills
Inquisitive by nature and able to see the 'Big Picture' while still being detail oriented

Strong communication skills both oral and written

Self-starter who is able to manage his/her own development
CPA or currently seeking CPA.

Preferred:
 
Big 4 auditing experience

 
Health insurance experience
Hyperion, Essbase or PeopleSoft
