Senior Accounting Specialist recruitment

Summary:

This position is a key member of the Controller’s organization and is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 3-4 years of public accounting experience.

In this role, you will report to our North America Accounting Manager. The North America Accounting Manager organization is a staff of eleven with responsibility for North America Corporate Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll. 

This position will have direct responsibility for PTC’s Canada legal entity monthly financial reporting and the coordination of regulatory compliance and with the accounting for stock-based compensation and foreign global assignments. A large part of this role will be project-based (i.e., acquisition diligence and integrations) and has been a great opportunity to work with a cross-functional project team. 

This position will work closely with the other departments in the Controller’s organization (i.e., SEC Reporting, Consolidations and Revenue) as well as IT, Financial Planning and Analysis, Tax and Treasury, Legal, and Human Resources. 

This position will also works closely with the business (i.e., Sales, Services, RD, Marketing, and Business Units) in conjunction with closing the books and to communicate and coordinate corporate accounting directives and policies.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Responsible for Canada legal entity monthly financial reporting.

• Liaise with and help coordinate the external audit including schedule preparation.

• Responsible for stock-based compensation accounting (ASC 718/SFAS 123R)

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and PTC’s accounting policies and processes

• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls in the financial close process.

• Research, document and communicate new accounting pronouncements and their applicability to PTC.

Requirements:

• Successful candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.  

• Must be proactive and able to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.

•  Must be able to recommend and implement process improvements across various functions.

• Must be able to provide leadership, establish departmental goals, and measure achievement.

• BS in Accounting

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting

•  2 years of public accounting experience
