Rock Recruitment Specialists are looking for an experienced Actuarial Analyst who can assist actuary in risk management, financial projections, capital management and reserving and embedded value work.
The main accountabilities of the role:
- Model loss ratios, persistency rates and premium increase projections in conjunction with Finance as part of the Financial Projection process
- Derive, recommend, and document embedded value bases and model embedded value outcomes in line with Group standards and deadlines
- Support the production of other regular deliverables including reserve and loss ratio updates
- Be proactive in the design and recommendation of improvements to the models, outputs and processes in respect of Financial Projections, Embedded Value and other regular deliverables
- Identify and monitor the key elements affecting the company's profitability and performance, including early warning indicators
- Ensure that operational risks are documented and managed effectively, and that controls are adequately designed and effective
- Provide technical support and guidance, coach, develop, appraise and motivate members of the Actuarial team, in order to help them achieve their objectives, and to build a high quality team
To be considered for the Senior Actuarial Analyst role you will have the following skills and experience:
- You must have been recruited and sponsored as an actuarial trainee
- You must have a minimum of 3 A levels - 1 of which must be Maths
- You must have an Honours degree - with a very high mathematical content or suitable post-graduate qualification
- All CT subjects and good progress through CA and ST stages
- Excellent/advanced knowledge of software applications MS Excel, MS Access and Cognos
- Proven strong analytical, communication and influencing skills
- A high level of general market awareness / industry knowledge
- Enthusiastic, curious, self-motivated and able to work either autonomously or within teams
- You must be able to plan and organise own workload
- You must be confident in presenting and communicating technical information
- Significant experience in an insurance company or consultancy with experience in Health and/or experience in financial projections
This is a permanent position and will be based in Central London.
