Project/BAU Advisory work
This role is a business embedded role focusing on Retail Business Banking. The role offers wide coverage across the organisation and a number of key projects giving opportunity to act as a true advisor and influence a number of senior stakeholders across the business
The purpose of the role is to provide full time embedded risk management and act as the AML advisor to support key strategic projects
Key role responsibilities
- Working as the primary AML advise consultant across the retail banking product and distribution channels
- Acting as the AML advise consultant on a number of key projects and initiatives helping the project stakeholders understand and manage key obligations around risk and compliance and potential implications of the project
- Offering support to ensure the project adheres to AML policies and regulations
- Advising and supporting the business functions and project teams in the development of processes, systems and behaviours
- Assisting the project to establish a 'process change' review and approval procedure and conduct process change' reviews where appropriate
- Supporting the ongoing identification of AML obligations and related risks for the project in relation to key regulations
- Working to foster and enhance a 'AML aware' culture and environment among the business and project teams leading the sustainability of the AML development in the BU via training, advice etc
- Developing and maintaining key relationships within the project staff and Product Operations business units to effectively manage AML/CTF/Sanctions
Ideal candidate
- Solid AML background within financial services either local or international will be considered
- Big 4 background preferred, but not essential
- Background working within or on behalf of retail banking clients is essential
- Strong knowledge and understanding of multi-channels within retail banking
- Strong knowledge of regulatory bodies such as AUSTRAC and APRA is advantageous
- Project Management experience
- Proven experience dealing with and influencing key senior stakeholders with the ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders
- Sound communication skills, both written and verbal, to inform or influence specific audiences
- Sound planning and implementation skills, and demonstrated ability to apply them in rapidly changing business
- environments
