Senior Analyst – Financial Economics recruitment
The Investment Policy department plays a key role in developing NBIMs investment strategy and in formulating Norges Bank’s strategic advice to the Ministry of Finance on the management of the Government Pension Fund Global.
Our task is to advise asset owners on the best long-term investment strategy. We monitor the financial markets to ensure continued improvements to our investment strategy, and analyze long-term risk premiums and develop long-term return expectations across asset classes to provide assessments on the fund’s current asset and risk allocations. We are now expanding our capacity and are seeking a dedicated professional to the position as Senior Analyst.
The position is located in Oslo or London and travel will be required.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct analysis on topics related to medium to long term asset and risk allocations, such as models to assess risk premium dynamics in the financial markets
- Contribute to the formulation of strategic advice to asset owners and internal stakeholders
- Work on the development of our internal policy benchmarks
- Relate to the international academic community in the field of financial economics as well as peer institutions, investment banks and other sources for investment insight and solutions
Main Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree, preferably PhD in Finance or Economics
- 4-6 years experience from a portfolio management, investment or risk analyst position in an Investment bank, fund management organization or central bank / multilateral organization will be an advantage
- Excellent analytical skills and in-depth understanding of financial markets
- Proficiency in statistical software such as R, Matlab is desirable
- Familiarity with financial and economic databases, e.g. Bloomberg, Factset or similar, is desirable
- Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English
