Senior Analyst Credit Research
Our client is one of Canada's largest and most diversified institutional investment fund managers, with an investment portfolio of approximately $71 billion. They are looking for a Senior Analyst Credit Research to join their team.
This position is responsible for providing fundamental credit analysis, valuation and covenant review on corporate bond issuers in the Canadian fixed income universe. Performing independent research, you will have in-depth knowledge of the corporate debt issues and issuers held in the bond portfolios and make buy, sell or hold recommendations based on fundamental financial statement review, covenant comparison and relative value analysis within and across sectors. You will proactively monitor assigned issuers and sectors and provide updates to the fixed income team. You will also meet with corporate issuers, industry analysts and rating agencies. The ability to develop collaborative relationships within the organization and externally is critical to becoming a successful member of this team.
Qualifications:
*Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
*A minimum of 5 years direct experience in the fundamental analysis of corporate bonds at the institutional level.
*Completion of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation is required.
*Advanced proficiency in financial statement modeling is essential.
*Should a qualified Senior Analyst candidate not be identified, consideration will be given to hiring at the Analyst level (minimum 2 years related experience in corporate bond analysis, equity analysis or investment banking experience).
