Senior Analyst – Equity recruitment
Key Objective of the Role:
- Contribute to the achievement of fund performance and risk objectives, generating excess returns for client assets.
Responsibilities:
Equity Manager Research/Selection:
• Identify potential new fund managers and oversee any analysis carried out by more junior analysts.
• Undertake all aspects of manager research process – reviewing materials, analysing portfolios, meeting managers, etc in accordance with SEI investment process
• Communicate manager rating and recommendations to other team members
• Production of meeting notes, Manager Thesis and other research documentation required; all materials to be filed centrally as required
- Agree management fees with managers within agreed parameters
• Presenting New Manager Hire recommendations to ISO for approval; working with Product team to onboard new manager hires.
Equity Manager Monitoring:
• Ongoing analysis of manager performance and portfolio characteristics against expectations and mandated guidelines.
• Ongoing manager review meetings.
• Creation and filing of required research documentation and materials.
• Communication of manager rating and recommendation to other team members
• Identifying and resolving any issues arising from the third party management of the funds
• Presenting manager terminations to ISO for approval; working with Product team to implement thereafter.
Equity Market Research:
- Review equity markets and the macro-economic environment.
- Undertake equity market research to identify attractive alpha sources and help develop portfolio investment strategy.
Equity Portfolio Monitoring/Management:
- Assist in the selection of appropriate managers for inclusion in SEI funds.
- Assist in the ongoing monitoring and analysis of portfolio risk profile and exposures.
- Assist with tactical adjustments to portfolio as market conditions change
- Assist in the maintenance of Fund Thesis and any other materials required for each fund managed.
Client Servicing:
- Ensure timely and accurate production of QIR slides, monthly scorecards, MDA and any other materials as required and to specified deadlines.
Other :
- Educate, guide and mentor junior analysts.
- Keep Current – (market conditions, regulation, SEI products and services, etc) and maintain ongoing and effective communication of these with clients and internal SEI where appropriate.
- Any other ad-hoc projects as required.

- Adhere to all relevant FSA requirements and compliance.
Technical Capabilities/Skills Experience Required for the Role:
- Ideally degree educated with full CFA qualification or MBA.
- At leas5 years’ experience working in an investment decision making role within the asset management or multi-manager industry.
- Excellent working knowledge of investment strategies and investment markets.
- Solid understanding of investment theories and in-depth of knowledge of equity markets and industry trends.
- The ability to pick up in-depth knowledge of SEI products and services/technical financial information and effectively communicate that to relevant clients/audiences.
- The ability to be credible in communications with peers and senior personnel
- Proficient IT skills - all Microsoft office products, Bloomberg, etc and able to pick up other systems/databases easily.
