Senior Analyst Power Markets recruitment
Working within a key commercial department this role has responsibility for looking at long term scenarios and exploring key risks as well as looking at investment opportunities. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a suite of models providing quantitative analysis of these scenarios for the GB electricity market.
These include a fundamental power market despatch model; a gas price volatility model; as well as numerous other models.
This is a key role at the heart of the Strategic Analysis Modelling team, which provides the quantitative data and complex analysis required by Corporate Strategy, and will be ideally suited to a candidate who can provide the quality of analysis to make an impact on the opinions and decisions of senior managers.
You will need to have an excellent understanding of the UK energy markets including their infrastructure and asset base. You will also have experience of energy market fundamental modelling methods ideally using Energy Exemplar PLEXOS software. You must have strong analytical and modelling skills using Excel and VBA coupled with strong problem solvings skills
Key will be your ability to develop and maintain models to analyse the operational and financial performance of upstream power assets and scenarios for power prices. Strong communication skills both written and verbal will also be crucial.
