The Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of West Virginia University is seeking a full-time Web Application Programmer / Professional Technologist 4 to work in the Department of Information Technology Services. This position will primarily be responsible for the full lifecycle of ASP.Net and Java based web applications and related databases and for all stages of analysis, development, testing, deployment support, and maintenance of enterprise web applications and databases employed by clients at multiple levels of the Health Sciences community including the main Health Sciences campus, regional, and remote campuses. This includes HSC s web-based course delivery and content management platform developed internally, as well as several integrated modules for communication and for financial, educational, management, and clinical data collection and tracking. This also includes independent data-driven applications for individual departments on both desktop and mobile platforms. Required qualifications include a Bachelor s degree in Computer Science plus six years of work related experience OR a Master s degree plus four years of work related experience. A Microsoft Certified Application Developer or equivalent certification is also desired. Successful candidate must have the number of the years of related work experience specified above in at least 6 of the following areas: Strong knowledge of database management, documentation and project control techniques; Experience with J2EE development; Knowledge of statistical analysis using SAS/SPSS; Experience with ASP.Net 4.0 Framework to include LINQ and Entity Framework; Experience developing and managing enterprise level web applications; Working knowledge of SQL and Oracle programming and server operations; Proven programming experience of common web languages, browser technology, and standards including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VB.NET, C#, JSP, IIS, .NET, and XML; Strong analytical skills to be able to research, analyze, detect, and technically correct errors within in-house developed processes; Ability to work in all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities; Strong analytical skills to be able to research, analyze, detect, and technically correct errors within in-house developed processes.
