SENIOR APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYST (Edmonton, AB)

As a Senior Application Support analyst you will be part of a team that maintains a portfolio of applications for one or more clients. You will work with your teammates and client contacts to troubleshoot application problems, recommend workarounds or fixes, complete the fix and then deploy it into the client’s production environment.

Candidates for this position should possess strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking. You should also possess the ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues that may occur at once. For some issues you may need to ‘think outside the box’ to determine the cause of the problem. Work may be an individual effort requiring the ability to function independently, or a team effort requiring close cooperation and with other team members and/or client contacts. At times you may also be in a situation where you need to guide junior members of the team that are performing similar responsibilities.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Incident and Problem Management.
  • Code and test application fixes.
  • Participate in the Change Management process as defined by the client.
  • Update and document tracking systems with issue status and resolution.
  • Complete and update application documentation.
  • Respond to queries from application users.
  • Participate in business analysis tasks such as requirements documentation, design review sessions, etc.
  • Prepare estimates for application enhancements.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance programs.
  • Complete regular metrics, client status and other operational reports.
  • Support user testing and training activities.
  • Participate in an off hours on-call rotation.
