An exciting opportunity exists at Whitlock for a Senior Application Developer. The Senior Application Developer is responsible for supporting and building custom applications for Whitlock. Primary responsibilities include working with SharePoint, Adobe ColdFusion, ASP.Net, C#, jQuery, SQL and other applicable programming languages. Responsibilities will include working with the business to design and develop web application user interfaces, develop custom reports, produce web services, and design and implement databases for web applications. The successful candidate will build, test, debug, and troubleshoot programs and scripts for various functions and modify existing code to add new features. The right person will be able to "hit the ground running" and "hit the whiteboard with ideas" on thier first day. Excellent comminication and orgainizational skills, the ability to multi-task, along with a willingness to learn are requirements for success.
Required Skills:
- A minimum 5 years of experience in Web Application Development and Architecture using SharePoint, ColdFusion, Java and related technologies for new feature development
- Experience working in SQL databases (preferably MS SQL Server) required
- In-depth experience with Java Script, jQuery, and related technologies
- Solid understanding of relational databases for implementing database-driven, Web-based applications
- Experience with SharePoint Designer 2010, especially its capabilities and limitations
- Must have hands-on experience of the configuration and settings for the core SharePoint WebParts, especially in the areas of List Filter WebParts, Search WebParts and DataView Data Connections.
- Must have hands-on experience to SharePoint specifically when utilizing ItemStyles, HeaderStyles, DataViews, Content Query WebParts and Custom List Forms.
- Must have hands-on experience with calculated fields, Content Query WebParts as they relate to Dashboards or Rollups.
- Must have working knowledge of jQuery, CSS, HTML, JavaScript to further enhance the look and feel and boost functionality within SharePoint when using these methods
- Experience with CMS (Content Management Systems) such as Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, etc. desirable
- Experience with VBA and macros
- Experience with analysis tools, methodologies and techniques. These include but are not limited to Visio, SDLC, Process-flow diagramming, and technical writing.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Project, and MS Excel
- An Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Engineering with strong mathematical and reasoning skills is required
