Senior Architect – VP (Singapore)
Senior architect will be responsible for design and architecture of global systems. This role requires superior stakeholder management skills, Architect will be responsible for liaising directly with global stakeholders and CTO. Must have the ability to represent the function globally, will be the 2IC for Regional Head. Effectively lead global discussions from analysis to technical designs and implementation. Experience with Equity Research, pricing, risk management systems an advantage.
Responsibilities:
• Define the structure of an application system within the constraints of the requirements, architecture, SDLC and deployment context.
• Strong ability to see the 'big picture' and able to implement strategies that align tasks/people/requirements for success in meeting the organizational goals.
• Effectively manage day to day activities across multiple projects.
• Maintain expertise in the business processes that drive the applications within the organizational scope.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships internally by representing the function as an ambassador.
• Effectively communicate the feasibility of requested deliverables and timelines to internal Business and Project Stakeholders.
• Review and analyze the requirements regarding their degree of detail, completeness (functional, nonfunctional, quality of service aspects) and feasibility as part of the requirements review.
• Manage the development process, interacting with development team to ensure timely and quality delivery. Makes design decisions based on the given functional and nonfunctional requirements.
Requirements:
• University graduate with minimum 8 years of software development experience with over 3+ years in an architecture role. MBA would be an advantage.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork and passionate about innovative technology solutions to solve complex business problems.
• Have good understanding of software development life cycle processes, documentations and methodologies.
• Previous experience with large systems in financial industry.
• Proven ability in defining technical solutions for complex business problems that span multiple products and application/system layers.
• Proven ability in defining scalable, reusable solutions.
• Superior oral and written communication skills. Ability to exhibit a commanding presence when necessary.
• Knowledge of theory and principles of project management.
• Deep analytical and problem solving abilities, attention to detail and sense of ownership.
Technical Knowledge: Java/ C++/ .Net, functional programming and scripting languages
