Description
Acts as a subject matter expert/designer for multiple systems and applications, utilizing current technology and tools. Identifies opportunities to reuse existing architectural components and where appropriate, identify, design and create new architectural components, which can be leveraged by other systems and applications. Has full understanding of firm wide architectural strategy and can effectively implement these strategies with full consideration of downstream and upstream impact. Reports to Group Manager. Provides consultation to business and IT management and staffs at various technical levels on all phases of the project development cycle. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems design. Plans and organizes technical related projects in the section. Works with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes for diverse development platforms, computing environments, software, hardware technologies and tools. Provides leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies, which assist functional business units in meeting their strategic objectives. Performs analysis and systems design my have hands-on coding and testing duties.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline, with an advanced degree and at least six to ten years of solid and diverse systems analysis and design experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the securities industry/financial services. Strong knowledge of securities industry and/or financial services. Strong knowledge of client area s function and systems. Strong judgment, decision-making skills and creative analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Broad knowledge of system and technology alternatives. Broad knowledge of system development life cycle. Ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staffs. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
