The Department
The GTC group focuses on EA-driven assignments including Cloud adoption and helping customers define their cloud enterprise architecture, implementation vision, and cloud transition road map to maintain the consistent and well-planned delivery of business solutions to our customers and ensure the success of Cognizant's business strategy will also be working hand-in-hand with the Convergent Cloud Group (CCG) and Cognizant Business Consulting (CBC) on Enterprise-level EA-driven planning. The focus of the group is to carry on the delivery of EA-driven consulting services including strategy definition and transformation planning for the Core business and Emerging Business Accelerators (EBA) groups. The group will also assist Cognizant verticals with traditional EA-driven consulting needs and will work closely with other Cognizant vertical and core architecture groups focused on implementation planning and solution implementations. The group will leverage GTO's existing global consulting presence and will work closely with the GTO CoEs especially with Cloud CoEs worldwide.
The Role
We are looking for client facing Enterprise level Architects to join a new technology consulting group within Europe.
You will be joining an experienced team of Enterprise Architects and fulfilling the role of owning the Java technology space within the team. With a firm direction of Cloud and Cloud based technologies the team is directed to invest in both internal innovation as well as thought leadership. Opportunities to travel mean you will need to be a self starter, able to grown and build relationships both internally with colleagues and develop relationships with clients in different geographic regions.
Responsibilities will include
- To take clear technology/area ownership
- Provide European Technology Consulting expertise to our clients
- To support the Head of GTC establish a strong consulting and technology solutioning group
- To deliver EA driven consulting services for Cloud adoption, Implementation and Transition
- Create a standard approach to working with other teams
- To resolve conflict, mitigate risks and issues
- To provide a closer working relationship with offshore components
- Generate client interest in solutions other than the current, proactively positioning the company for additional/added value work
- Participate in proposals, creates content and/or solution. Ensure quality estimates, leveraging past data, experience, other forms of estimation, other teams etc
- Communicating strategies, policies and complex technical issues to both business and technical audiences. Comfortable to present at Mid to Senior IT management levels
- Contribution to Organizational Knowledge, Process, Reusable artifacts etc.
- Understand our Cognizant landscape - Organisation and Team Interactions
- Contribute to internal GTC - Europe via Social Media, i.e. blogs
- To work in a cohesive, supportive and collective mode of excellence who can bring innovation which demonstrates our unique capabilities to our customers and Cognizant AM/CP's
Skills Experience Required and/or Preferred
- Experience in working in complex multi national organization.
- A proven track record in demonstrating client facing consulting skills and experience in relevant sector
- The ability to seek out and drive opportunities for improved business and IT effectiveness
- Must have a strong development and design knowledge and project experience
- Extensive development knowledge and project experience in Service Orientated Architecture and Design.
- Extensive experience in the provision of frameworks and deployments
- Experience of security solutions
- Knowledge of Design and Integration Patterns and Methodologies
- Knowledge or experience of TOGAF or any other architectural framework
- Knowledge or experience of building cloud solutions
- Experience of delivering Architectural solutions across complex and diverse applications
- Proven Business and IT experience ideally supported with relevant professional qualifications (Bachelors Level degree or commensurate qualifications and experience)
