Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems and related internals; storage; networking and load balancing technologies

Full lifecycle (SDLC) and application development technologies: SQL databases, LDAP, Java/J2EE, web services, XML, and web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Engineering/architecture principles (Object Oriented Design, Patterns, Service Oriented Architecture) and advanced application development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc).

TIBCO or equivalent workflow, messaging (JMS) and integration (ESB) platforms.

Virtualization platforms (VMware, etc) and related Cloud enabling technologies.

Ideal Candidates will have domain expertise and experience across several of these areas:

B/OSS transformation/modernization.

Architecting, implementation roll-out of STB applications (Voice, Video, Data), B/OSS solutions for cable service providers

Hands on with cable Plants and controllers (DAC and DNCS) as well the networks that support them (ex. Motorola ALOHA / Scientific Atlanta DAVIC networks).

Tru2Way, EBIF, Cablecard technologies, iTV Applications deployment

VOD systems Seachange, Tandberg and Concurrent

IT solutions for cable operators from concept to development to roll-out in the Video services

Knowledge of Cable Service Provider BSS, OSS, IT, and Engineering standards (CableLabs, TMF, ITIL, IETF, IEEE, ITU-T, 3GPP)

Set-top devices, applications and middleware technologies (Motorola, Scientific Atlanta, Panasonic)

Defining/updating Infrastructure architecture and standards.

Long-range planning e.g. technology roadmap and architecture in all relevant operational technology domains, working with relevant stakeholders.

Establish/evolve technology standards in relevant technology domains which comprise a list of products that are approved for enterprise deployment, as well as life-cycle view of these products.

Establish/evolve architecture review process and standards review. This includes tool due diligence, requirements gathering, deployment and process inception.

Establish/evolve technology life-cycle, by which products are introduced into the environment as needed and ushered out of the environment as their support and currency becomes problematic, and as their relevancy becomes problematic vs. newer products or releases.
Publish above roadmap, architecture, standards, life-cycle, etc.
