Role Overview

 

 

Role Responsibilities:

 

·         Provide data archiving and retention expertise into client projects from a delivery methodology, legal, compliance and tools perspective

·         Undertake requirements gathering with the client business team and articulate functional archiving and retention requirements into documents and specifications

·         Solution design of business and technical archiving and retrieval solutions (including 'hot', 'warm' and 'cold' archiving solutions)

·         Project manage data archiving/retention projects

·         Support bid and pre-sales activity

·         Lead a small team of technical resources on a project (sometimes remotely)

·         Provide input into project management role in terms of data archiving development/test activities and sequencing

·         Conduct on-site situation assessments and identify potential work opportunities

·         Undertake audits of existing data retention projects/requirements and provide considered feedback in relation to risks, issues and opportunities

·         Maintain detailed understanding of latest technologies and processes within the data archiving domain

·         Mentor and provide detailed knowledge transfer to colleagues

·         Generate case studies and white papers in relation to the innovative use of data management, retention and retrieval toolsets

 

Essentials:

 

·         Experience of at least three full lifecycle data archiving projects involving structured and unstructured data

·         Knowledge of end to end information lifecycle

·         Prior tool experience ideally across various leading vendors (Informatica ILM, IBM Optim, etc.)

·         Experience of data challenges relating to major ERP-scale system implementations

·         Data management strategy and roadmap development

·         Strong client facing skills

·         Experience of technical and business requirements gathering

·         Ability to provide clear and concise feedback to clients including key stakeholder management

·         Good analytical skills and ability to clearly articulate requirements

·         Demonstrable knowledge of industry standards and regulatory/legal requirements pertaining to data retention (e.g. HR records)

·         Extensive understanding of the UK data protection act

 

The successful candidates will be required to obtain clearance to SC level
