Senior Associate – Asset Management recruitment

Why join The FSA?

The unique nature of our organisation will give you an unparalleled insight into the financial services world. This is also a rare opportunity to be part of the implementation of the new regulatory structure.

You will have access to a range of career and development opportunities, enabling you to broaden and deepen your existing experience and to learn new skills. Most importantly, you will be part of an organisation that can offer stability and security to businesses and individuals during these complex financial times.

The role

There are five supervision teams – two have vacancies - within the Asset Management Department, which conducts and prudential supervision of asset management firms of all sizes and types.

You will be responsible for supervising firms, gathering and analysing information in order to assess the business, financial and control risks being run, and to identify any significant weaknesses and deciding the action to be taken. The role also involves working with others to carry out firm risk assessments and working on thematic projects, as well as to develop, implement and monitor firm and industry-wide risk mitigation programmes.

The requirements

We are interested in meeting professionals with a working history and expertise in one or more areas of asset management, or who have first-hand experience of the associated regulatory framework. It would be a particular advantage if this background covered Hedge Funds, Custody Banks, Third Party Administration or traditional asset management. Highly developed analytical, numerical, communication and stakeholder management skills will be essential, alongside good commercial awareness.
