Position Summary
The Senior Associate or Associate Director will work directly with a Principal and the Head of Financial Advisory division to lead and advise companies and managers on mergers, acquisitions, capital raising, lending and privatisations, management buyouts and identify and secure new deals. The Senior Associate or Associate Director will work in an entrepreneurial setting and receive close mentoring with experienced senior-level directors in a small team environment.
Responsibilities
- Origination
- thoroughly researching market conditions and developments;
- identifying new business opportunities;
- assessing a deal’s desirability and chances.
- Execution (Transaction Preparation)
- carrying out client due diligence;
- preparing process and marketing documentation (teaser, information memorandum for company sale assignments and private placements);
- advising clients on how much capital to raise, from where and when
- working with lenders such as financial institutions, agencies and public and private companies to support client debt. This includes restructuring debt, refinancing debt and raising new debt.
- carrying out financial modeling, then developing and presenting appropriate financial solutions to clients;
- preparing valuations
- liaising with the client’s chief executive and chief finance officers;
- Closing
- coordinating teams of professionals, including accountants, lawyers and PR consultants and working closely with them;
- structuring and negotiating the detailed terms of a deal, often in liaison with other professionals
- developing compelling argumentations leading to closing
Qualifications
The company is looking for a high energy individual who is a self-starter, can hit the ground running and will enjoy working as part of a small team in an entrepreneurial corporate finance firm. The candidate will have/be:
• Strong analytical skills, the position holder will have a proven business analytics background and outstanding ability to summarize complex issues
• Transaction Experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or Private Equity
• An experience of 5/10 years in a challenging and dynamic environment will be required for this position, for which a rigorous approach to work is necessary
• Team player, the position holder will nevertheless be autonomous in his approach to work and be ready to take ownership of projects
• Ready to accept responsibilities and accountability in a changing and challenging corporate finance environment
• Deep understanding of company financials
• Financial valuation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills
• Strong client management skills
• Flexible and able to multi-task
• Work under pressure
• Solution-minded
• Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities
• Ready to accept moderate travel requirements
• Education: Master in Business Administration level or equivalent
• Fluent in English, practice of 2 other common European languages
