Institutional Banking and Markets provides relationship management and product capability for the Bank's major corporate, government and institutional clients. IBM offers Total Capital Solutions to our clients, ranging from core transactional banking to debt, equity and financial markets risk management products and services.
The team:
The CAS team works to develop strategic funding and capital market ideas and solutions for clients, with a focus on:
- Equity capital markets, debt capital markets and acquisition financing origination and execution.
- Refinancing advice, requiring solutions across multiple products.
- Provision of capital management and balance sheet optimisation advice.
- Provision of high level ratings and comparable peer analysis.
- Supporting and enhancing the client planning process.
- Driving increased CBA engagement with clients Senior Management (CEOs / CFOs) and Boards.
You will:
The Senior Associate role will work with senior executives across Product, Coverage/Relationship Banker and the CAS team to co-ordinate and manage overall delivery of cross product presentations/solutions, including support for required research, analysis and modelling.
More specifically you will:
- Develop strong internal relationships with Product, Risk and Relationship Coverage teams to gain a thorough understanding of IBM's full product offering and priority clients' requirements
- Work with senior executives across CAS, Coverage, Product and Risk on developing strategic ideas/solution for high value clients.
- Manage/coordinate the preparation of client presentations
- Work in partnership with internal business partners to drive efficiencies in servicing clients throughout the sales cycle, for instance, working in conjunction with Product / Risk / Finance.
- Share industry insights and 'best practice' across Coverage teams.
- Adhere to the risk appetite of the bank and work collaboratively with Risk Management colleagues to manage the quality of the portfolio from both a credit and operational perspective.
You have:
- Tertiary Business qualification
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, DCF, valuation and MA principles.
- Highly developed research, analytical and financial modelling skills.
- Strong presentation skills (oral and written).
- Experience in preparing client pitches and presentations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to build a strong rapport with clients and work colleagues.
- Experience in understanding the operational drivers of a business and how they relate to the financial drivers of that business.
- The ability to very quickly grasp complex structured transactions and analyse the benefits of the idea.
- for specific client circumstances.
- Understanding of the equity, debt and capital markets.
Desirable
- Experience in client facing roles.
- Credit experience.
- Understanding of IBM's products.
- Strong project management skills.
