RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the Global Desktop Engineering team, the successful candidate will be responsible to build and support the organization’s IT infrastructure in Hong Kong and also support offices based in other locations when called upon.
This role will be responsible for managing and supporting the End User Computing environment including but not limited to End user devices in the Hong Kong office, office based server and storage infrastructure, SCCM, Virtualized Desktops, network device. The role would also involve providing quick and effective turnaround for tickets logged after completing due investigation. The idea candidate would be dynamic, motivated and able to perform independently as well as work in partnership with various technology disciplines such as Windows, UNIX and Networks. The role may require the candidate to travel to various MSCI offices to assist with various IT related tasks during Office build outs and Office Moves apart from regular maintenance cycles.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Computer Science,
- Certification in Microsoft Technologies- Server/Desktop.
- Experience of at least 5 years working in Desktop/Server Support.
- Experience in Desktop Technologies like Virtual Desktops – Citrix Xen or VMware.
- Experience in technologies like Microsoft Exchange, RSA securID administration, BES Administration, Cisco IP Telephony and administration
- Experience in Windows Technologies like Active Directory, Windows Server 2008
- Hands on experience in Storage/ Network technologies would be added advantage
- Hands on expertise in hardware troubleshooting and resolution of hardware specific issues.
- Familiar Linux/Unix environments
- Strong analytical troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Self-starter who is confident, action and results orientated
- Must be attentive to detail, proactive and flexible
- Ability to effectively work with diverse cultures in a global team.
- Ability to articulate the substantive issues clearly and concisely to peers, senior management and clients.
- Capable of contributing effectively in projects regardless of functional, geographic, and business lines.
- Ability to excel in an environment of ambiguity by quickly adapting behavior and work methods to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities
