About our client
Investec is a specialist bank and asset manager with a dynamic, entrepreneurial culture and strong growth ambitions. The Growth and Acquisition Finance team provides debt and minority equity investment of between £5 and £50m to growing UK mid-market businesses. It is adding to the team with the recruitment of an associate consultant to support on investment analysis and execution as well as post investment monitoring. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, driven private equity, mezzanine or leveraged finance investor who is at an early stage in their career and wants to work in an active investing environment.
Responsibilities
- You will work alongside entrepreneurs, management teams and private equity investors to provide finance for UK mid-market companies
- Your role will be to work alongside the lead originators focussing on financial and cash flow analysis, commercial appraisal, managing the due diligence and execution process and post-investment monitoring
- You will be ambitious and driven and begin to build your own network for sourcing future opportunities
Skills we’re looking for
- You’ve made a start to your career in private equity, leveraged finance or mezzanine investment
- Or you have had lead advisory experience with good exposure to UK mid-market transactions
- Strong valuation and financial modelling skills
- Great commercial judgement
- Superb communication and relationship building skills
- Self-confident and self-starting
- Enthusiasm to join a growing, entrepreneurial team
