Risk management protects business performance and helps clients sustain results. It's about achieving a clear understanding of different risks and developing plans to manage them. As one of our advisors, you will help leading organizations implement a sound approach to risk and control. This will allow clients to develop greater confidence that they can respond to whatever the future may hold. You will also work with colleagues from other parts of the business, in particular with our Performance Improvement and Information Technology Risk and Assurance professionals. This means helping major global clients transform and sustain business performance. We'll support your professional growth by enabling you to develop specific skills-sets and giving you experience of a diverse range of clients and projects.
Job purpose
As a Risk Senior, you'll make a significant technical contribution to Risk client engagements and internal projects. Within your role, you'll actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. You'll also identify and escalate potential business opportunities for Ernst Young within existing engagements.
With a clear focus on anticipating and identifying risks, you'll escalate issues as appropriate. Working closely with colleagues, you'll confirm whether the work plan is properly executed, documented and concluded in compliance with Ernst Young's guidelines. As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture, coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.
Your job and client responsibilities
Work effectively as a team leader on field, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication and updating senior team members on progress including:
- Job planning: Research on client background and risks, planning staff resource and propose tailored audit work program and audit time schedules, coordinate with client on kick off meeting with client and other necessary planning activities.
- Job execution: Perform testing of complex / non-routine audit areas, complete work programs including conducting interviews with Senior Management, provide guidance to junior team member(s), review the work of junior team member(s), schedule closing meeting with client and prepare closing meeting slides.
- Reporting: Prepare draft and final reports after the necessary internal reviews, wrap up audit work programs and workfiles, and assist in any other wrap up activities.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel
- Build strong internal relationships within Ernst Young Advisory Services and with other services across the organization
Your people responsibilities
- Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
- Contribute to people initiatives, including recruiting and retaining Risk professionals
- Contribute to an educational program to continually develop interpersonal and technical skills of staff
- Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures
Requirements
- Recognized Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business or other related field
- At least 2 years' experience gained in an internal auditing/line position in a commercial environment, or in a big public accounting firm
- Industry related certification (e.g., CPA/CA, CIA, CMA, RICS)
- Proficiency with MS Office and Visio
- International business experience preferred
- Experience in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and/or Oil Gas industry is an added advantage
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated integrity, values, principles, and work ethic

- Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese
- Willingness to travel on overseas assignments
