Senior Automated Underwriting Consultant
The AUDI Team manage and service the automated and predictive underwriting needs of Swiss Re's global clients. Swiss Re's renowned automated underwriting system, Magnum, provides insurers with the ability to guide the consumer through the underwriting process and reduce the number of referrals to an underwriter. Plus, the system provides strategic information to help businesses understand their data better in an increasingly competitive world.
The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Magnum Europe Team based in Zurich. We are looking for an experienced Underwriter to support our new and existing client rulebase implementations. Main responsibilities include assisting clients with the customisation of their rulebase, building and testing underwriting rules within Magnum and developing and maintaining close relationships with both business and IT functions with our clients. The successful candidate will manage the overall implementation project ensuring that the system is delivered according to the agreed specifications and deadlines. They will also be required to support the continuing development of the Magnum product including the core software and contribution to the generic underwriting rules. The role involves short periods of on-site work in client offices across Europe so a flexibility to travel is required.
About you
Minimum of 5 years underwriting experience
Proficient IT skills including the ability to confidently use some of the advanced features of Word/Excel/Access etc.
Good knowledge of life insurance risk products sold in European markets including life insurance, medical insurance, disability income and critical illness
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including giving presentations/ demonstrations to clients
Effective coaching and mentoring skills including previous experience of delivering training
Fluent in English and ideally at least one other European language
Flexible approach to travel is required
Experience of in-house underwriting systems and previous involvements in IT projects an advantage, as is familiarity with data analytics/reporting tools
