POSITIONS AVAILABLE Company: Lab126 (doing business as A2Z Development Center, Inc.), an Amazon.com company Position Title : Senior Battery Systems Engineer Location : Cupertino, CA Position Responsibilities : Contribute to the development of innovative consumer-centric product solutions, including battery powered consumer electronics development, by engaging with cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and bring to market innovative consumer products. Work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and test. Define a battery roadmap and strategy for products. Create battery specifications and work with System and Product Design to define proper capacity and mechanical outline. Participating in battery testing and qualifying, and work with Software Engineers to develop and test proper charging algorithms. Test battery in system operation and confirm performance throughout operating range. Perform battery discharge and lifecycle tests using Li-ion and Li-Polymer cells and chemistry. Debug factory and field issues related to battery management, and work with Safety Engineering for battery compliance and IEEE 1725 certification and statistical analysis. Position Requirements: Requires a Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Material Engineering, or a related field plus at least two years of experience in the job offered or related occupations of Battery Engineer, Electronics Engineer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor?s degree and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Master?s degree and two years of experience. Two years of experience in the job offered or related occupation must include Li-ion and Li-polymer cells and chemistry; battery testing and qualifying; and statistical analysis. One of year of experience must also include IEEE1725 battery certification.
