ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT Express Scripts PharmacoAnalytics department has an unmatched legacy of experience with pharmacy claims data. Our team of more than 80 data analysts, clinical consultants, and benefit consultants works closely with our clients to provide trend management consultation, benchmarking comparisons, ad hoc reporting and analysis, and customized strategic account planning. Working with the account team, PharmacoAnalytics provides data-driven decision support, delivering accurate and actionable recommendations to improve your prescription drug plans performance. The origins of PharmacoAnalytics, rooted in financial analytics and pharmacy benefits and member cost share analysis, provide us with a deeper understanding of the importance of metric-based strategic planning. To this end, we proactively leverage all available information to identify opportunities for improvement for our clients and their members. Depending on the clients goals, these recommendations can include channel management or clinical programs, such as Step Therapy, that drive to lowest net cost. RESPONSIBILITIES Provide support to potential clients and Sales Directors by assisting with analysis to be included in responses to pre-RFP requests, formal RFPs and Finalist presentations. Interpret and apply trends within the prescription drug industry to prospect data in an analytical and consultative way. Determine specific plan opportunities for prospects and present results of analysis to Sales Team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Plan design analysis and consultation. Support plan initiatives through in depth analysis of cost drivers and results of potential plan design initiatives using models and analysis of book of business. Maintain turn-around times per contractual agreements. 2. Data mining and extraction for complex ad hoc reporting. Query data warehouse(s) using variety of tools available. Extract data and manipulate into reports for clients both internal and external. 3. Build models and reporting tools to more efficiently manipulate raw or processed prospect data. 4. Problem resolution and research on prospect cost savings opportunities. Support Sales staff by doing analysis on pricing and product upsell opportunities. 5. Mentoring teammates and QA for teammates.
