Senior Benefits Analyst (Newark, NJ) – Health and Welfare recruitment
The Office of Employee Benefits (OEB) is responsible for the administration of the Federal Reserve's Health Care benefit plans. This position is located in Newark, New Jersey.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support a broad health care strategy, including medical, dental, prescription drug, Flexible Spending Accounts, vision and national wellness and disease management programs. The position is accountable for development, oversight, administration, communication, and measurement of these programs.
Duties include
- Manage and negotiate the relationship and service performance of outsourced administrators and insurance providers
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations (if applicable), including Health Care Reform; participate in internal and external benefit plan audits, SOX compliance review and non-discrimination testing
- Partner with Communications and vendors on employee benefit communications, including annual enrollment materials, Summary Plan Descriptions and letters to carriers/participants and ensuring that all benefits are effectively communicated to employees
- Research best practices, performs benchmarking analysis and comparisons, and evaluates emerging trends
- Review plan experience, identify methods of cost control and analyze cost impact to organization
- Work with Reserve Bank representatives and vendors to identify/resolve issues in a timely manner
- Acts as benefits consultant in redesigning and rolling?out benefits processes to streamline and enhance workflow and increase employee appreciation of the Benefits Program
- Compile, analyze and maintain data to support and measure benefit plan strategies, plan design changes, and evaluate costs and member impact; and
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and regulatory issues in employee benefits
Skills
- Undergraduate degree
- At least five to seven years of work experience in all aspects of the health and welfare plans, including annual enrollment events, wellness/condition management programs
- Broad knowledge of health and welfare issues and ability to resolve them appropriately
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the demonstrated capability to manage complex projects involving the coordination of internal and external resources; ability to multi-task
- Ability to think critically and make sound recommendations
- Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated capability in qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Demonstrated capability in presentation skills including verbal, written and computer-based presentations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as both a team member and team leader, in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated capability to work with all levels of employees, management and outside vendors and develop productive business relationships; and
- Proficiency in Windows, Word and Excel is a must, Power Point, Lotus Notes and computer reports is a plus.
