Senior Business Analyst
Our client one of the UK’s leading Fund Management Company is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to assist work on a number of projects within the UK Business Technology function which provides technology services to the business for Pensions, Personal Investing, eCommerce, and Workplace Savings.
The Senior Business Analyst will work on a number of projects around the Wrap platform, and FundsNetwork and will include the development and support of business applications, operational, compliance and customer service functions.
The Business Analyst plays a key role in defining and initiating technology projects, by working closely with business representatives and the technology team to define a mutually agreed set of project requirements. When the project has been successfully initiated the Business Analyst remains an important part of the project team, and assists during solution definition, build and test.
Our client applies a dynamic workshop-driven approach to requirements gathering, so the successful candidate will need to be able to rapidly form relationships with business stakeholders, facilitate workshops and prepare professional documentation in order to capture and convert business requirements into systems requirements in a structured manner.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing business and systems analysis support to the UK Business
- Capture, clarify and document business requirements through a range of analysis techniques
- Analyse and translate business requirements into systems requirements documents and system design specifications
- Facilitate business technology workshops for stakeholders of all levels
- Writing procedures for retail investment products
- Produce and review relevant project documentation
- Review test scripts for system acceptance
- Liaise with business stakeholders, solution architects, systems stakeholders, support and other development teams
- Liaise with the off-shore delivery team and provide clear communication of functional and non-functional requirements
- Liaise with third party partners and suppliers
- Provide timely and accurate status updates to the Project Manager
- Monitor current business/system analysis working practices and take initiative to advise follow-through on suitable pragmatic continuous improvements
- Stay abreast of key emerging products / industry standards in the System Analysis arena
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Proven experience of working for an Asset Management / Investment / Wealth companies
- Experience of leading large analysis projects
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Fund Supermarket, Wrap Platforms, Distribution Channels and Software Vendor companies
- Knowledge of Investment Retail Funds processes and procedures
- Experience of business process re-engineering, analysis, user requirement gathering, gap analysis, cost benefit analysis, workshop facilitation business case development
- Industry Qualifications: ISEB, IAQ, or IMC
Given the nature of the role you will need to possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work face-to-face with senior management and stakeholders and therefore excellent presentation and communications skills are key.
