Senior Business Analyst

Senior Business Analyst – 6 months – Credit Risk Expertise – £300 Daily Rate

Hays is delighted to be working with a leading financial institution to recruit for a highly experienced senior business analyst, with a background in credit risk, for an initial 6 month contract to cover maternity leave within the organisation. For a strong performer, there is potential for extension and further contract work. This role is due to begin as soon as possible so immediately available candidates, or those soon to be completing contracts, are of particular interest.

The primary focus of this position is to improve data management capability across the business, ensuring maximum security against potential risks. To this end, you will be undertaking the following duties:

Assist the work stream lead with establishing the work stream and developing approach, methodologies and detailed plans as appropriate
Provide guidance and direction for Business Analyst resources assigned to the work stream, as required
Perform business analysis functions as required across various initiatives including:

Data Definitions:
· Manage the population of the Key Data Element (KDE) data definition
· Work with Divisions and Functions to identify all uses of the KDEs and identify where data is sourced
· Identify systems, tables and field names for a complex set of data.
· Plan, organise and facilitate the workshops to define data definition for group mandated KDEs and reach a common agreement on data definitions
· Map Group KDEs, derivations of KDEs and underlying data to Logical Data Model (LDM).

Data Ownership Model:
· Work with Divisions and Functions to identify candidate data owners and stewards.
· Plan, organise and facilitate the workshops to define ownership and stewardship candidates for group mandated KDEs.

Criteria:
§ 10 years of business analysis experience
§ Experience in a business change environment
§ Good understanding of business analysis/project management methodology and it’s practical application, preferably supported by a formal qualification
§ Previous experience of implementing data ownership in a Financial Services firm (preferred)
§ Extensive experience of credit risk
