Senior Business Analyst, Calypso Implementation – 1 year term recruitment

The Business Analyst (BA) will provide business analysis and testing expertise in developing, streamlining and supporting process automation applications for WBPO TO. He/she is the key client relationship manager for the duration of the project and is accountable for consulting with the business to understand its business goals and objectives, processes, and requirements. The BA collaborates with the IT project teams and business clients to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design, from which applications and solutions are developed. The candidate should have very good knowledge of financial instruments (equities, derivatives, options) including market conventions and valuation methods, Back Office processes, and the end-to-end workflows among the Front, Middle, and Back Offices for the fixed income, commodities, foreign exchange and derivative related products.

• Seek out and analyze competitive trends and provide insights and recommendations
• Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements within Business Integration and Performance Management
• Deliver “Service Excellence” to our business partners
• Demonstrate behaviours consistent with the “Our Way” model and aligned with BMO values

Work Experience and Education:
• University degree in business or related field
• CFA a strong asset
• 2 to 5 years progressive project related work experience
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Familiar with process analysis and improvement tools
• Familiar with products, operations and market practices
• Solid knowledge of conversion, parallel, and implementation processes
• Understanding of the business unit’s risk and regulatory requirements
• Solid knowledge and understanding of the business unit's key products and services, processes and controls
• Strong understanding of Capital Markets business and products (i.e. Fixed Income, Derivatives / valuation, risk, etc.)

Skills:
• Trading systems experience would be beneficial (i.e. Calypso, Wall Street Systems)
• Demonstrates solid writing and documentation skills
• Possesses solid problem-solving and analytical skills
• Displays good interviewing and facilitation skills
• Solid understanding and use of tools associated with the role
• Communicates easily with varying stakeholders in controlled situations (e.g., one-on-one interviews, formal requirements gathering sessions, etc.)
• Solid influencing and relationship management skills to drive change forward
• Must be a creative, self starting, results-oriented, and highly motivated individual
• technical skills:  Excel, Access, VBA
