Our client provides asset management services to investors all over the world - currently managing over $200 billion for private investors and institutions alike. Our client has an award winning research team building investment products and portfolios stock by stock from the bottom up. The Charles River project is charged with moving Europe and Asia onto a robust platform that will support the continued growth of the firm. Comprised of a front and middle office, multi asset class, multi currency software solution that provides straight through processing on a single, consolidated platform.
The senior BA role is based in Hong Kong and will have initial responsibility for gathering, collating and documenting business requirements ahead of the Charles River Equities implementation in 2013. The role will involve working closely with a number of teams, translating business requirements into system requirements and designing system functional behaviours. The BA will ensure that the design is accurately understood and delivered by the developers, ensuring full traceability.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
- Solid 'buy-side' Front-to-Back business knowledge - (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives)
- Knowledge of Trade, Reference and Market data.
- Understanding of Asia market and local market-specific requirements would be advantageous.
- Experience of working on major systems implementation project.
- Experience of post-implementation business support.
- Strong IT experience within a Financial Services environment
- Ability to document and review complex business and functional specifications, ensuring quality, conciseness and completeness
- Proven skills within business process re-engineering, analysis, user requirement review, gap analysis, functional design workshop facilitation
- Planning and supporting project test cycles and preparing business cases
- Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile development methodologies
- Excellent inter-personal, communication, documentation, facilitation presentation skills
- Exposure to applications such as Charles River
Your key accountabilities:
- Document detailed business requirements for Asia offices
- Document trade flows for Asia offices
- Establish a strong working relationships with all key project stakeholders
- Clarification of business requirements in collaboration with business representatives
- Input into high level functional design in collaboration with senior architects
- Facilitate business technology workshops including walkthroughs for users of all levels
- Obtain business understanding and agreement on technology deliverables
- Ensure project deliveries are in line with strategic architecture ensuring we build for the future
- Facilitate open communication between business and the development teams
- Driving reviewing test scripts for both system integration and user acceptance testing
- Provide support to technology and business users during key test phases
- Acting as subject matter expert during the project lifecycle to assist in query resolution and early identification of issues
- Promote best practices within the Investment Admin team foster a knowledge sharing environment
- To promote Thought Leadership within the project and to provide a critical eye as to how things are being implemented.
