Senior Business Analyst – Digital Transformation – Banking recruitment

One of our leading banking clients are currently recruiting for a senior Business Analyst to take the lead on a large Digital Transformation that is responsible for delivering major investment and enhancements in our internet technology platform, services and product offers, by the bank to set the pace in internet and telephone banking in the UK.

You will be expected to lead in developing and articulating the business/IT needs of a release or sub-release of Digital Transformation from the initiation stage through to delivery. Responsible for quality of deliverables produced by Business Analysts within the team.

Accountabilities:

•Working with multidisciplinary IT and business teams including customer experience architects, IT architects, operating model specialists and others.

•Working across multiple stages of the lifecycle from proposition development, through design, and latterly in build and test through to go-live to ensure the design is appropriately realised.

•Produce pragmatic and supportive end to end specifications (customer to fulfilment) to meet the requirements and facilitate the creation of options to stakeholders where there are tradeoffs.

•Review/evaluate solution designs to meet these requirements in line with agreed business and IT strategies including an assessment of its impact on customers and the organisation.

•Manage key business stakeholder relationships to approve and support the designs and resolve issues through build and test.

•Production (including sign off) of business process designs, business solution specifications, business solution designs, implementation analysis and designs, customer migration analysis and designs

•Leads programme scoping and requirements definition on behalf of IT at Idea/Initiation/Study, and owns responsibility until Implementation.

•Sets the strategy for the analysis approach to be taken to business requirements activities.

•Supports Head of Programme Delivery in order to understand the business vision and resulting portfolio.

•Collaborates with the business to define shape the project objectives, making goals, requirements and constraints unambiguous to IT.

•Ensures compliance with the Bank’s IT architectures, books of instructions, procedures and guidelines, quality standards and all regulatory and statutory requirements.

•Shares knowledge, expertise and ideas with others to provide business value to own team / project, e.g. proactively provides mentoring and career development to line reports

•Leads initiatives within BA Practice or wider community.

•Proven record of working at portfolio level and assisting with directing strategy.

•Interpret business trends and market movements to identify relevant IT solutions to business problems.

•Advise and facilitate management of development and business process improvement opportunities in relation to IT systems.

•Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirement documentation

•Effective leadership of direct and virtual teams to ensure cohesiveness and quality of analysis deliverables.  

Key Capabilities/ knowledge:

•Able to operate with diverse and senior stakeholders from multiple businesses across the bank. Able to interact and maintain relationships with peer group across Group IT to ensure effective working relationships and project handshakes.

•Experience of mass user 24/7 internet applications and infrastructures.

•Experience of high security architectures.

•Detailed knowledge within assigned Business Unit domain (or proven ability to acquire this rapidly in related domain).

•Familiarity with banking compliance requirements.

•Recognised authority in Business Analysis techniques, processes and tools

•Well balanced business and IT awareness.

•Able to work within a fluid environment to derive clear requirements.

•Proven ability to manage analysis across large scale portfolio of initiatives.

•Effective performance management skills.

•Ability to work under pressure and work within multiple work streams.

•ISEB and/or similar qualifications.
