Senior Business Analyst
My client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst. Candidate must be dedicated, self-sufficient, and demonstrate a history of accountability and delivery of complex process workflows, analysis, requirements, and system documentation. Lead analysis and undertake detailed documentation of requirements around the reengineering of an Equities Fair Value evaluation system. Primary objective will be to re-design operational flows and systems processes for maximum automation, streamlined workflow and transformation from end-of-day processing to a dynamic, continuous model. Measure of success will be a product that demonstrates the absolute minimum number of steps required for manual and systematic processing while preserving or improving level of quality/consistency in output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with business through decomposition of current workflow and tasks to understand purpose and function of current processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate.
- Document findings and improvements reflecting revised or new operational and systematic processes.
- Elicit, analyze and document business requirements and rules, including financial calculations/methodologies, compliance and corporate actions rules, use cases, and/or functional specifications, on a timely basis, with excellent quality.
- Maintain requirements/specification documents as needed through development life cycle, ensuring requirements are complete, unambiguous, and testable.
- Work within IT to ensure requirements delivered successfully within project constraints
- Continuously identify areas of functional or data overlaps across systems areas to eliminate or reduce redundancies where possible.
Required Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience working as part of project team within financial services technology. Strong knowledge of financial industry and market data is a must.
- Knowledge of time series analysis, statistical and regression models.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and oral. The ability to extract logical processes from an audience not versed in this procedure is a key skill.
- Demonstrated ability to document workflows and requirements effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Quickly understands business or technical issues along with the ability to frame effectively for management, and identify possible remediation.
- In-depth knowledge of the SDLC processes and the importance of the requirements gathering and documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
