Senior Business Analyst – Fixed Income recruitment
Additionally, the candidate will contribute to the ongoing data strategy of Fixed Income as it pertains to compliance.
The successful candidate will define and execute strategy that best meets Fixed Income needs while fitting into the firm’s global strategy. They will have the ability to validate and reconcile data, write business requirements for new data elements and data delivery improvement, be able to articulate financial concepts, business requirements and functional requirements to technical and non technical audiences. They will participate on data governance committees.
Where needed, this person will work with the internal and external vendors to correct errors, research and answer questions and escalations from clients, maintain issues lists and work with Programme Management to define new releases.
Ultimately, the person will add value by working on a number of projects and by providing exemplary follow-through. They will have the ability to think independently and to ask intelligent questions.
This is a valuable opportunity to interact on a daily basis with members of the Global Fixed Income Portfolio Management and Administration teams.
Reporting Line
The role reports to the Chief Administrative Officer (“CAO”) of Fixed Income and sits in the Programme Management function of the Front Office..
Responsibilities
Work closely with the CAO team, the Pre Trade Compliance Project Manager, Fixed Income Portfolio Managers, Operations, Compliance and IT. Provide leadership, perform analysis and/or execute compliance activities related to:
- Defining and executing the pre and post trade compliance strategy in the FI front office
- Validating and reconciling data integrity, including but not limited to,
- Indicative data
- Benchmark
- Valuation
- Translation of guidelines, including regulatory and risk, into effective data rules
- Designing and implementing the front office error/breach process
- Designing system interfaces used by the portfolio managers
- Working closely with the FI Analytics and Data team to align strategy
- Interfacing with several of the firm’s major proprietary and vendor related systems/applications
- Working with cross-functional department teams to provide solutions to issues
Qualifications:
This position requires a candidate who has a strong understanding of fixed income instruments (e.g. bonds, money market instruments, securitized products, futures, OTC derivatives, FX etc) as well as the regulatory environment of an investment advisor. They will have a strong working knowledge of commercial market data sources, such as Bloomberg, Markit.
They should possess a nuanced understanding of current developments in financial services, preferably through working in a global organisation. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate flexibility, versatility and a pragmatic approach.
The successful candidate will have experience interacting with knowledgeable and demanding audiences at all levels of management. Strong leadership skills and prior experience in a senior operational or compliance role would be beneficial. Excellent writing skills and the ability to succinctly convey information to senior management are expected.
