Senior Business Analyst, IT, Documentation & Derivatives, Investment Bank recruitment

Business analyst required to join a department of around 130 people responsible for the development and support of systems used by Global Operations across all product categories of a Tier 1 investment bank. This team is responsible for all the Build the Bank projects for several applications which include:

-          An in house confirmation application whose primary function is to track the confirmation matching workflow and produce confirmation documents, both electronically and via post/fax cross all asset classes.
-          Payment processing system for derivative trades.
-          An in house automated brokerage workflow system for derivatives.
-          A vendor application which manages the storage and retrieval paper and electronic documentation for multiple applications across the bank

This business analyst team is expected to take projects from inception through to delivery and is expected to work closely with the business, development team and test team. The range of projects this business analyst can be expected to work on are; industry upgrades, functionality enhancements to improve STP, templates changes, regulatory changes, on boarding of new products and new business initiatives.

You will be responsible for:

-          Capturing business requirements
-          Obtaining business justification and business case
-          Designing effective and efficient solutions
-          Accessing the feasibility of the solution
-          Producing the functional specification document.
-          Working closely with the development team throughout the project lifecycle
-          Working closely with the team throughout the planning and execution of System Test.
-          Working closely with the business during UAT phases

Essential experience:

-          End-to-end business analysis experience within an investment bank
-          Strong knowledge of confirmations or reconciliations
-          Ability to read and write basic SQL commands
