Senior Business Analyst Job in Gainesville 20155, Virginia US
Extract financial data from internal systems, organizing, analyzing and maintaining auditable records. Generate time phased budgets. Analyze and report performance against baseline budget directly to customer and internally to management. Interface with Program Management, Engineering, Procurement and Production. Price and assist in proposal preparation. Work independently with minimal supervision.
5% - Utilize organizational skills to effectively coordinate schedules and work flow. Develop knowledge of business management systems and operations as required to accomplish assigned activities.
60% - Perform budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement system status and maintenance utilizing computers/systems as required to perform assignments and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Prepare a variety of reports reflecting awards, sales, profit, flash reports, performance and other planning data. Assist internal and external auditors regarding accounting, estimating and control procedures.
5% - Assist functional management in audits, negotiations and special inquiries regarding pertinent financial procedures and financial data.
20% - Review and analyze status/progress and prepare variance analysis reports to customer and apprising management of trends and anomalies which effect performance to maximize revenue and profit. Develop and/or obtain estimates at completion as required.
10% - Perform and support various planning activities including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and 5 year Strategic Plan (STRAP), burden rate updates and analysis, program risk and opportunity assessments. Coordinate the setup of Interplant Work Authorizations (IPWA) and Management Work Authorizations (MWA) as required for assigned programs.
Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting and six years of directly related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Experience must include at least two years of transactional accounting, audit or business analysis. Also requires experience in business operations, including experience with cost accounting standards, performance measurement systems and command media. Must have a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and contracting requirements. Prefer candidates with earned value and CPR reporting experience.
