Senior Business Analyst recruitment

Based in Redwood Shores, CA, the Senior Business Analyst will serve as liaison between the business community and IT to provide technical solutions that meet user needs; translate business requirements into functional specifications; analyze business partner operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions; assist in business process redesign and documentation, translate high level business requirements into functional specifications; negotiate deliverables by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation; follow rigorous SDLC and project management best practices, comply with internal Sarbanes?Oxley (SOX) and other compliance related processes and adhere to change control and problem management procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of research and analysis to drive improved execution of business operations using consistent methods and tools
- Develop recommendations to solve problems and issues related to business operations and communications with other departments
- Work with the business to prioritize issues; perform root cause, trend, gap cost/benefit analysis; typically involves use of data mining and query tools
- Develop and recommend alternative approaches to problems that balance technical and operational feasibility, such as new and/or improvements to controls, workflows, systems, processes, product and service offerings and/or training and documentation
- Design and prepare analytical reports and dashboards for business unit
- Participate in system related projects involving preparing business requirements, user testing and updating documentation/ procedures. Tests new systems, defines test objectives, scope, conditions and cases, and identifies and resolves discrepancies
- Interpret business and operational issues. Defines scope, business objectives and systems requirement for new projects
- Conduct post implementation review to identify enhancements, workflow adjustments, facilitates changes to process documentation, and additional training needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field; PMP Certification preferred
- 8+ years experience, including financial and/or data research analysis experience
- Well developed project management skills; understanding of process improvement techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience developing and presenting analyses and recommendations to management and staff
- Ability to develop business and functional requirements with a solid understanding of IT and its alignment with business processes
- In-depth knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office 2010, databases and administrative systems, including the ability to develop and run ad-hoc reporting in any of these programs
