The Information Product Management (IPM) market data business relies heavily on the distribution of our market data through licensed data distributors and consumers. A primary objective for the department is to establish CME as an industry frontrunner CME through leadership and enhance its relationships with information vendors, as well as the end-user community.
This role will be responsible for collecting, analyzing and reconciling vendor data and use this analysis to generate monthly billing, revenue and budget forecasts.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
The essential functions of the job, written in order of priority.
- Collaborates with vendors/firms to ensure reports are timely, accurate, and complete.
- Develop and generate reports and analyses based on vendor information. This includes conducting simple to moderately complex financial analysis.
- Coordinates and manages a high volume subscriber database. Works with IT Support on all reporting system issues. Works with IT to develop tools to effectively analyze vendor data and demonstrates a keen eye for numerical detail.
- Substantiates and reconciles vendor reports with clear documentation. Resolve discrepancies independently.
- Monitors and audits inbound market data vendor billing and contracts. Creates control procedures to ensure compliance and contractual licensing are accurate.
COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES
- Independently conduct simple to moderately complex financial analysis. (ex. reviewing multiple data sources and drawing conclusions)
- Collaborates with vendors to develop market data solutions and resolve issues (ex. Supplying exchange with data solutions and means to attain data).
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of Account and Vendor Management
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance is preferred
SOFTWARE
- Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on high degree of proficiency in Excel including the use of financial formulas, data analysis and pivot table features is a must.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Access, SQL and Visual Basic programming is highly desired.
- Proficient in PeopleSoft or other financial database helpful

- Develop Institute improved procedures for testing and production acceptance to reduce failures and improve reliability and availability
- Provide recommendations for tools and system improvements and requirements in our vendor monitoring systems and reporting capabilities.
- Regularly exercises independent judgment to identify problems and to work with the quote vendor representatives to resolve reporting and billing discrepancies.
- Identify source of problem and communicate with a variety of teams to bring about resolution
- Articulate business requirements and solutions effectively while increasing operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with IT Support to correct reporting system errors regularly. Collaborate with IT to develop tools to aid in analysis of reports.
- Analyzes information; demonstrating an understanding of statistical models for business analysis.
