As a Sr. Business Analyst in Personal Market Affinity Finance Operations, you will perform forecasting and expense- and budget-related business research that's designed to mitigate expense growth while supporting decisions that contribute to the growth of profitable business.
Responsibilities:
- Under limited supervision (working individually or as part of a project team), performs complex research and analysis to support business operations and decisions. Extracts information from various sources, manipulates data in spreadsheets; identifies and researches anomalies; and makes recommendations. Creates models to facilitate forecasts for current and future year plans, using information gathered to develop standard reports; draw conclusions about trends and variances; and present information in storyboards to convince internal and external stakeholders to make decisions. E.g., develop/revise a pro forma model to manage dozens of revenue projections to support the business strategy of winning and retaining clients.
- Assists others with conducting new business, expense, and budget-related research by gathering data, identifying options, performing cost-benefit analyses, and creating non-routine analyses and/or recommendations to address problems/issues; makes presentations to department senior managers (Director through SVP level).
- Plays a key role in identifying and implementing cost savings and process improvement projects. Leads improvement efforts to understand, document, and enhance current business processes with a goal to improve overall operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Work with other teams in the department to coordinate activities and project work in order to ensure that Liberty meets customer expectations. Assists in problem resolution as needed to ensure that customers receive prompt, efficient service.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or equivalent experience. Master's Degree in a technical or business discipline or related experience is preferred but not required.
- Effective analytical/problem solving and research skills. Proficiency with spreadsheets and database software required. Experience with data modeling and creating efficiencies through automation preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively exchange information (verbally and in writing) with people inside and outside of the Company, as well as the ability to negotiate effectively and superior organizational abilities.
- This person will support both expense management and new business forecasting/development for a sales and marketing department. The ability to successfully manage relationships and multiple priorities is required.
- The ability to present complex issues succinctly to executive management is a must.
